Try fabric stores, like Joann.. or ask your friends/family for old leather jackets, etc. They can be your practice pieces, even. Also, try thrift stores if you want things cheap, for leather apparel that you might be able to use. Otherwise, you can try downtown/chinatown. You can probably call the fabric stores and ask them before you even make the trip. If I'm not mistaken, I've spotted leather at Joann.

Joke: You can steal leather chaps from a gay guy, or use the part that was cut off to make assless chaps.
Serious: Try looking on Ebay to see if anyone sells leather there in bulk.
