This was my choice of names for our son, but my husband was determined our son's middle name would be after my husband's late grandfather (Thomas) and Nicholas Thomas did not go well... so we decided on Jason. I love Nicholas though. When I hear the name, I think of someone educated, who speaks properly, has respect and manners, kind and caring. It's a strong name. You should definitely go with it.

I like it but i have a feeling that he'll end up being called Nick a lot more than Nicholas. Also you could make it a little more unique by spelling it with a k instead as in Nikolas.

Nicholas is my husbands' name, so of course I love it!! He is very sweet and kind, His mother and I are the only one's that call him by his full name. A lot of people have shortened it to Nick- drives his mom crazy! But the name is great, I think so anyway.

My friends' son is named Nicholas. He's a cute little guy. But I don't like nicknames much so he'd probably be called Nicholas. That's what my friend calls her son. I've never heard her use a nickname.

Nicholas means "victory of the people." It's a very strong name of Greek origin. My best friend named her first son Nicholas. It always reminds me of the John Cusack movie "Better Off Dead": "Nick's your friend; Nick's your buddy; Nick's the guy who doesn't mind if you puke in the back seat of his car..."
All of the Nicholas, Nick people I've known have been very nice, highly intelligent, and would totally make rejects pay to clean out the back seats of their cars :)

I picture a Nicholas as being of average height with brown hair, brown eyes, and freckles. Possibly glasses....but maybe not, and has a passion for amphibians and other things sciencey.
