From an industry standpoint, "American Idol" is FOX's biggest "cash crop". NO WAY are they going to let the show go regardless of whoever wins, even if the singer that wins stinks.
What they NEED to do for next year, if the producers could hope for a season 8 in 2009, is change the voting to get the judges involved in it somehow on a percentage basis with the phone calls. That way it blocks sites like "vote for the worst" from running this. The judges also have to pick out more interesting people. With the exception of Melinda Doolittle and Lakisha Smith, everyone else is boring.
In effect, the "AI" flagship is starting to spring leaks....when you consider that Taylor Hicks NOR Katherine McPhee couldn't crack a million record sales, yet Chris Daughtry, who came in third place, is VERY successful with his current album.
Besides, if Sanjaya cuts an album...we need a new William Hung anyway! LOL

Simon said if Sanjaya wins he wont be a american idol jugde anymore. I wont watch american idol then. I bet Sanjaya will get out. but he has to be there when Gwen Stefani comes. He sings rich girl. hahaha and i think thye will have another season

Well, I truthfully don't think it will come to that, but in the off chance Sanjaya does win and that is a REAL OFF CHANCE, I won't watch it ever again. It's supposed to be a singing competition, but since he has stayed on as long as he has it is obvious it has become a popularity show. It really wasn't started out to be that way either. It's the teenyboppers and people who think he's cute who's voting for him. Granted he is kind of cute, that still shouldn't be why he is still there. jmo

If Sanjaya wins I will never watch Idol again!
But theres no way they will cancel the show

Possibly could wreck the show for FOX. However, Sanjaya has already been offered a spot in the new Geico Caveman sitcom on ABC. He could possibly use this as a springboard into show business (since he can't sing)

yes. it's too popular not to have another season, regardless of who wins. all these people who say they'll quit watching unless sanjaya is booted off will still watch.

If he is the next American Idol, I wouldn't watch another season even if there is one, which there probably will be.

Yes. The runner-ups from previous seasons are doing better anyway.
