Nope. Alaska's DMV utilizes the NCIC system, which is linked to all 50 states, and Interpol. You surrender your out of state license in order to take the written test here, while you are taking that test, the clerk is running your make through that registry... If you "pop", you will get a visit from local law enforcement for attempting to obtain an illegal license, and identification.

This is a very serious situation since 9-11. Alaska takes this very seriously. Get the problem remedied before you get here.
