Of course not. The Soprano's is a story. Albeit a story that could to some point be accurate enough to depict the Mafia version of Italians. But look at what else they do when they're not whacking anyone. They eat, a lot. They smoke. They like looking at scantily clad women and have all sorts of contact with them. These would be your typical single Italian males. They like to have fun. They love family. They are devoted to family. And if you watch enough of the show you'll see that some episodes are kind of boring. But that's how it would play out if camera's could follow a Mafioso around. They aren't killing people all the time. Sometimes they just don't want to do anything.. And you can't just look at Italian-Americans being depicted. Each nationality has it'swn way of doing things. Sometimes they make for a good storyline for TV and some don't. Italians have had their fair share of movies and TV shows about them. How much you believe depends on how well you know one. We're not all in the Mafia.

I have friends who are very traditional Italians and others who just pretend. I think a lot of them only wished they were as popular as the Italians they watch on TV.

I wrote a similar blog article about this same subject.
