We're going to the above area next month. Looking for things my 2 1/2 year old boy would like to see or do.

There's always the Jelly Belly Factory:

The end of napa also seems pretty neat, although I've never been there.

The Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield is fun. It has a huge Jelly Belly store, a restaurant (complete with Jelly Belly shaped burgers), and of course a factory tour.

You should check out Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (formerly Marine World) in Vallejo. It's basically an amusement park and a zoo put together, with equal amounts of animals and rides. Your son won't be able to ride the big roller coasters, but there are two kiddie areas and some good family rides, plus great animal shows and exhibits.

the jelly bean factory is good for kids. there is also a water park around the area (i'm not sure when they open though). picnic at a winery is always a good idea since kids love food and playing in the grass...
