Limestone rocks are sedimentary rocks that are made from the mineral calcite which came from the beds of evaporated seas and lakes and from the shells and skeletons of marine animals. The rock is used in many ways including the making oc concrete. The rock is an excellent building stone for humid regions.
Limestone makes up about 10 percent of all sedimentary rocks and can be found in many places on the earth. For example Africa,Egypt,Denmark, France Pakistan Switzerland, and of course in the United States. Limestone rock is also common on many of the small islands of the western Pacific Ocean.
