I was born & raised on country & western music. It's part of my life. The songs have a meaning or history behind them. They're not just cheating & drinking songs. They're either about the singer's life (Coat Of Many Colors) by Dolly Parton or "Coal Miner's Daughter" by Loretta Lynn."18 Wheels and a Dozen Roses" (Kathy Mattea), happened on the road. Or sometimes it's just a story, made up and may take days to write. It's about life. Country music has helped me live (I'm 43 now). I do like a few other types but not this hard rock, heavy metal or whatever or rap...... YUCK !!!!

Music is and has always been fascinating to me. I'm amazed at how some people/artists create music and come up with all these different sounds, beats and lyrics, and all of the unique singing voices out there and all of the musical instruments we have and devices to record music. It's kinda crazy to know that sound/music can be recorded onto vinyl albums, cassette tapes, CDs and DVDs. I think it's magical and when I hear a new song that I really like...I am still so amazed at how people come up with these new things all the time. Music is an emotional release for me. I imagine myself in the situation of the song and I feel what the creator felt...or I try to, anyway. It would kinda suck if we didn't have music.

Music is a form of free expression that ranges every kind of emotion. It's a way to fully let go. It's a stress-reliever. It's a universal tool of expression and communication - music isn't restricted by culture or society. Every society has had its own form of music, and it just keeps evolving throughout the centuries.
Music has been a part of my life since I was born. I've been told stories by my parents about my reactions to music while I was still in utero. My parents went to a performance of the 1812 Overture, to which I kicked along in time.
I've been a classical performer for most of my life - violin, piano, voice. It's always come to me naturally. I can't imagine my life without that. I'm currently a vocal performance major at Portland State University.

5 Years ago if you would have asked me this question,Im sure my answer would have been different. As someone who has spent 30 years in and out of the business,I would say its impact on me has been dramatic.I was 3 when I learned to play the piano and 6 when I learned to play guitar.Over the years through school and various situations I acquired alot of knowledge about music and developed a real love for it.I learned in high school that I had perfect pitch and was the envy of most muscians I worked with because of that.I saw it as a uniting ,universal language and the power of it for good was the most powerful force on the planet.I believe it was music that was responsible for the fall of the berlin wall, not any self serving politician who will go down in the history books as the ONE responsible for it .BS!!!So music has enormous potential.Unfortunately we now live in a world of such greed, corruption, and general ignorance that the very force I thought could save the world (All You Need Is Love - right?)Now I see rich megalomaniac musicians who are so consumed with greed that they attack the very fan base that supported them and made them rich in the first place,ie: Lars Ulrich and Metallica and any ilk that follow their policy of corporate greed.Second, have you ever seen the commercial for the video game(I forget the name of it at the moment.but needless to say,I am bombarded with the commercial in TV ads daily!)where at the end of the commercial the guy says"Music is my weapon and I will use it against you."Thats what its become.People in the business will stab you in the back as soon as you are no longer useful to THEIR purposes. And every musician with the exception of one that I can think of that I have ever worked with, and its been quite a few, some famous, most not, have been selfish egomaniacs and wouldnt give you a glass of water if you were on fire. The world has no respect for MOST musicians. They just follow the ones that show their cootch in public and have sex on videotape.I LOVED THIS BUSINESS AND GAVE EVERYTHING I HAD TO,AND IT SH#T ON ME OVER AND OVER AGAIN.AND NOW THE BOY WHO THOUGHT MUSIC WOULD CHANGE THE WORLD AND MAKE IT A BETTER PLACE HAS BECOME A CYNICAL OLD MAN THAT SEES IT AS ANOTHER SELF SERVING VEHICLE FOR A SELFISH IGNORANT WORLD.I WISH I WERE DEAF.Thanks for asking and have a great day.

It undoubtedly has had a tremendous influence. I consider my existence might be incredibly dull with out being uncovered to the track that I have. Through the track, that is fine through it self, I have met many well persons and made plenty of peers. It is form of a travel via existence, discovering and being attentive to special forms of track and you come back throughout persons that are not all to disimilar from in lots of points of existence. Worst revel in maybe used to be in whilst I used to be in top institution. Someone desired to instruct me a few jazz patterns of track together with the blues and gospel. I used to be now not use to their procedure or any procedure (no authentic musical coaching, no classical coaching, no truly course). I deserted that oppurtunity and more commonly I desire I didn't due to the fact I might have discovered plenty extra approximately gambling track. I play just a little guitar. If I caught with the character, I might play plenty of guitar, however I more commonly have got to inform my self that the relaxation of my existence might have became out a lot more special and I am comfortable with wherein I am now (now not convinced, simply good enough). Best revel in. . . wow, being out on a significant camp web page within the mountains of the state I are living in. There used to be a significant Arts and Music competition. I slept little or no and danced relatively slightly. There used to be o a lot to look, such a lot of persons to engage with and I used to be there 3 days and 3 nights and I acquired so hooked up to the location and the persons that I cried whilst I left, that is relatively infrequent for me. So that used to be an eye fixed opener.
