Ok its been just about 9 years since the last time ive been pregnant. So yeah, you can imagine that I really dont remember how it was. Im 5 weeks as of tomorrow and seem to feel swollen already. To let you in on a lil info, im starting out pregnancy plusized. I know there are many things that can occur because of being big. I just hope and pray that everything will be ok. I know its normal to have fluid retention near the latter months of pregnancy but this early? fingers kinda feel tight and face looks puffy feet too just a bit. anyone gone through this, dealing with this? I hope that nothings wrong I dont have an appt for another 2 weeks. Goodness really nervous, help me out. Just a quick note. I havent been trying ot consum much salt so to not retain water. Would having pizza 2 days ago still effect me today? It doesnt seem possible. Also anyone have aching on any given side of lower abdomen?

fluid retention was my first symptom and I was told it was very normal. I would call and ask the Dr about the lower abdomen pain. Hope everything works out and good luck

Hi, i had this with my first pregnancy. I was 70 kilos when i started but wa 90 by time i finished. I had fluid retention around 6 months and it never went away until i gave birth.

The best thing is to see a doc, cause it could be preecempsia, which can be dangerous.

Pizza would not affect you, dont worry about that.

Pains this early in pregnancy also is normal. Its your body getting ready to hold a life in side you.

Go to the docs, don't wait. Better to be safe than sorry. Plus it will put your mind at ease also.

Good luck

Carla

Bloating is definitely a side effect/symptom of early pregnancy.

Pizza is VERY salty and will cause retention even 2 days later. You need to really watch your sodium intake.

Cramping is normal up until your 2nd trimester, and then you'll start to get growing pains (uterus stretching).

Good luck.

Congrats!
I am 9 weeks pregnant, and also have a 7 year old.
I am also plus sized.

Drink lots of water. Not gatorade, it has sodium.

Take your vitamins, too.

It's sooo different the second time around, isn't it???
