that depends entirely on what age that you were at the time.
You had the corporate working girl look like melanie griffith in the movie. big shoulder pads, suits, high heels, very polished running around in reebox sneakers when not at work.
Then there was the madonna punk rock wannabe with the hair sprayed with so much hair spray it was crispy.
Then there was the flashdance jazzerice dancer people with the ripped sweatshirt, leggings look
Or the preppy kids with their new england prep school plaid skirts, khakis and oxford shirts.
And there were all the crazy "odd girl" clothes like from Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, Sixteen Candles.
You cannot really classify the 80s woman with one specific type of clothes.

Padded shoulders. I thought it was dumb. I was wearing bell bottoms, I guess I liked the sixties, even though I wasn't old enough to know the sixties. The work-out wear look was in, too. Debbie Gibson, Cindy Lauper, Jane Fonda, Madonna, all those ladies wore 80's fashions.

We were required to wear dresses or skirts at my high school in the early 80's...so during the week it was (itchy) crew-neck sweaters and straight skirts, or dresses with lots of ruffles. As far as shoes, everyone wore flats - never heals!
On the weekends, it was jeans and punk rock shirts. Also, makeup and hair took forever. We used hot rollers and curling irons every morning. Most of us didn't use "Product" in our hair either..which resulted in lots of frizz.

women wore crazy leggings and thick headbands and long sweaters with thick belts. Kinda sorta like the trends of today.
