I've heard that people can be hired as script readers (either movie or television), and I was wondering what is involved in that career field. Are there any special classes one needs to take? What kind of salary/pay can one expect? Is relocation to Los Angeles or New York City required? And how exactly does someone become a script reader?

You asked the right person if you search it on google and take classes you will find out more but it is very complicated to get into!

Those jobs are few and far between. Typically one must have previously worked in some aspect of the entertainment industry. Script readers that get the jobs have worked in the industry or "know someone" in the industry.

Years ago, I got lucky and became a script reader in Television.

Unless you have worked in the entertainment industry, I can't think of anything that would prepare you to become a script reader. Script reading is a small part of the job, as other duties, include typical daily Admin Assistant work.

The jobs are only available in New York City and Los Angeles, as the entertainment is mainly in L.A. and NYC.
