If you are on the internet constantly you can download a program that I use called Atomic Clock Sync that is update by the US online Atomic Clock, which you can download from download.com at this address:

Underclocking often occurs because the laptop is on batteries and it is an automatic process that laptops use to create

1 Longer hardware lifespan.
2 Lower heat dissipation.
3 Lower electrical consumption.
4 Higher stability.

Hope I can answer your question! Feel free to contact me with your solution or any other problems/details at any time, either on Yahoo! Messenger or by email.

The people above are correct, but not very specific. What actually needs replacing is what as known as the CMOS battery, which is very similar to a watch battery. Unfortunately enough, it is very difficult to access on many laptops. You can try and see if you can get to it by removing the panels for RAM and hard drive on the underside of your laptop, or you can download an atomic clock synchronization program which will keep your clock synced.

You don't need to replace the CMOS battery on the laptop because it can be expensive, what you want to try to do first is to charge the computer while it's ON (IT HAS TO BE ON) and leave it charged for 50 hours, it will charge the CMOS battery and you will have the correct time after that.

What happen is that the CMOS battery is getting low on your system and you just have to recharge it, the only way to recharge it is to follow the steps above.

To leave the computer on while charging, you have to be in BIOS or configure your power option to be "always on"

Change the battery on your motherboard. It sounds like it's getting weak.
Yes, there is a small watch battery attached to your motherboard. It keeps the clock correct among other functions.
