Personally, and this may sound a little harsh but I don't like cards with words in them because they are written by somebody else and therefore have no special significance to the person receiving it. I much prefer to make my cards and put my own personal message in it. It means so much more to the person receiving it particularly if it a really close friend.

When I was younger... I opened the card "upsidedown" to see if money would fall out... Now that I am older I realize that the wording on the cards is more important than the money that does not fall out of the cards.. so I read them and save them..... it's fun to go through the cards you have received over the years.

Because it's the thought that counts. It's the fact that someone went out their way to buy me a card is all that matters! I only read the funny ones, but I have to say, I don't buy them anymore as I prefer to just get them a present and save some trees. If they have a present they don't need a card because I have thought of them enough to get them a present!

I always read my cards, Id like to think a lot of effort went into picking it for me, I especially read the verses. Same with sending them I always go with a good verse that relates to the situation of who the card is for.
