The Movie "Official Story"?

Question

In the movie "the Official Story" (about the disappearances in Argentina) what was the significance of the two parties that Alicia attends in the beginning of the movie? In other words, what were the differences between the two parties? Also, what social class did the literature teacher at Alicia's school belong to?

Sorry if these questions are really specific. My spanish teacher wants them answered and I don't really understand the movie. Thanks for your help!
