I'm 14, black hair, brown eyes, medium skin, well-proportioned (so that means I'm not going to grow much more), 5'0, pretty skinny (90 lbs.), and I'm Asian. I'm not as attractive as models these days but I do have pretty lips. I've always wanted to be a model like Erika Sawajiri, but I'm not sure if I'm good enough to be one. Any help (including how to start, find agencies, how much time is needed to commit to it, what qualities models need, etc...)? Thanks so much!! Oh, and if you want a pic to see my face, email me!!

you're waaaay too short to do runway but there is plenty of opportunity in magazine ads or television commercials, especially if you have a pretty face. since you mentioned your lips as being one of your best features there is a good chance you could model lipstick in advertisments. asians also usually have the best silky, straight black hair and flawless, creamy skin so there is also the chance of landing shampoo/conditioner ads or ones for skincare products. look online for model searches that are coming to your area. these events are usually held at local shopping malls and sometimes advertised on the radio. they give you the opportunity to meet with representitives from modeling agencies for free.

Runway models should be at least 5'9". The reasoning is for the long lines of the clothes. When doing runway, the models are trying to sell a designer's clothes, and the better they look on the runway, the more they will sell. Therefore, the taller you are, the better you make the clothes look because taller women are considered more graceful.

If you're shorter than that, you're usually the model where you sell bathing suits, panties and bras. Basically, you're selling yourself to get the brand out there.

Maybe you should do some stage drama and go into acting. There aren't any height requirements for that.

The minimum for runway is 5'7". And you never know, you might not be done growing. whatever you do, don't spend money. you don't need to spend $600 to get started. It's all a business so be careful out there.

first step, know that you are good enough... stop with this stuff that youre not good enough... you have to be confident... its true that you will probably have a hard time of it... but i think most girls dont stop growing until they are at least sixteen... if it is what you really want, dont give up... but be realistic and know that it will probably be tough... good luck.
