I have tried to communicate and explain the situation, even came up with a comprehensive plan including lowering the price and installment. They are still not moving.

Communication. If both parties are wiling to look at the issues they can find some common ground. Both sides will have to compromise.
Once lawyers are involved it will never be settled cheap since the longer they take the more they make.
