I would take the deal. It is a pretty close trade but in your favor Beltre will steal an occasional base. The batting ave is pretty close and the power is slightly in Beltres favor....he did go deep 18 times after the All Star break last season, a good indicator he has found the stroke that got him the big contract in the first place. I wouldnt expect him to return to the huge numbers but Blalock also needs a rebound year, his numbers have declined 3 years in a row. Plus Beltre is having a big spring (last year he was terrible in spring training and got off to a slow start).

This is a really interesting trade.
Beltre bats 2nd behind Ichiro and Hank bats 5th behind Teixeira. Both will have low batting avg., but Beltre will get more steal opportunities.
I think you should accept the trade.

Accept. Beltre played fantastic at the end of last season, and I expect him to carry that over to this season. With Barry Zito gone, there arent any truly dominating pitchers in the AL West, so I expect him to have a breakout year.

I would keep Blalock. Beltre has had a few "off" years in a row and appears to be near done. Blalock had one off year and may be due for a comeback year. Plus, Blalock plays in Texas which is a hitters park and Beltre is in a pitchers park in Seattle.

I would take this because Blalock had a lackluster year last year, and Beltre took a lot of strides towards the end of the season.
