I am so tired of people bothering everyone about their life and what they choose to do with it. Leave the homosexuals alone...leave the atheists alone...leave everyone alone! Worry about your own ******* life and stop getting into everyone else's. It's a waste of time and it's just going to cause anger from other people. Why can't people just leave it alone?

I agree with kharm. Human nature says that what you are and who you are is the best, and everyone else that disagrees is wrong. So therefore people want to push these thoughts and beliefs on others. And it probably makes them feel better if they can get people to listen to them.
I'm a Christian. Although I may wish to tell you about God and Jesus and such, for me to push my religion on you is wrong. I can talk to you about it, and hope you'll accept it, but if you don't like it, don't believe it, or whatever, then I also know that I can't do much else and should leave you alone about it.

It is in human nature to believe that your view is the best. It's only one step to go from there to trying to push your beliefs on everyone else.
I'm not saying it's a good thing, that's just the way it is. You asked why.
