I think that the falcons may have a chance, because the first thing is the new coaching. Some changes have been that Michael Vick can now call plays, and also that Joe Horn has been added to the team. Joe Horn and Michael Vick should work well together, because I have heard that they were friends before hand. Also if they can pick up another good wide receiver in the draft and a good safety (since after trading schaub they have two first round picks) then it would be pretty helpful to the team as well.

What everyone said was true but then anup1992 had a point how is Rex Grossman a superbowl qb but mike vick isn't? I think that Rex Grossman is far more in-consistent than Mike Vick

I do believe that Vick is a Superbowl Quarterback. It's not that Vick is a terrible passer, it's that he never had a capable set of recievers. Horn will manage to help, but not to the point where he'll totally pull them out. If you remember back to the Pittsburgh game he went to town on my beloved Steelers. When things click, he's dangerous.
However, they lack a good back-up quarterback. Their defense could use some help also. I don't think they'll take down the Saints for the divison, but I think they'll make a wild card.
Superbowl next season? No. A couple of good free agent signing and a good couple of decent picks in the draft and within 3 years I say they'll be back in the big game.

Now that they have the eighth pick of the draft, I'm guessing on picking LaRon Landry, well I know he is gonna be good. Joe Horn is gonna be a big help for Michael Vick...
However, mavbe they could go to the playoffs but not the SB.
The required stats for Michael Vick: 3000 yards throwing 500 tards rushing
Warrick Dunn: 1100 yards rushing
Joe Horn: about 900 yards catching since he now has more oppertunities...
LaRon Landry, DeAngelo Hall and rest of the Defense
more then 10 interceptions at least and 20 sacks at least....
I know the defense won't do much so the Falcons offense has to be one of the top offense in the conference

Not much of a chance. Unless Vick learned how to read defenses and throw the ball to his recievers. You can't win with a QB that runs for more yards than he passes for. Horn will help because he is a great reciever but Vick still has to be the guy to get it to him. They may do alright in the season, maybe even make the palyoffs, maybe, but once in the playoffs your playing against teams that can contain and force Vick to win with his arm which I don't think he can do consistantly. Only time will tell but i'd be loooking for a back up, such as a Green or Plummer.

I think they have a pretty good chance but trading the #1 backup QB wasn't a good idea especially on a do or die year like the one coming up. I think that Petrino's new plays can and will give Vick more options than tucking it and running and getting heart. If most of their guys stay healthy it think they has 5 starters get hurt and 4 sat out the rest of the season.

Well first off i am so glad that some won Else likes falcons. So yes they do have Joe Horn + the number one rush offense in the NFL.And the #1 tight end i the NFL (well i really think so).As long as Micheal Vick doesent get hurt we will be fine. But i do think that Matt Schaub was a great QB.
To awnser your question yes they are playoff contenders.Maby if they dont make mistakes this season they most certainly will be in the superbowl.

I'd say the Lions have a far better chance at going to the superbowl next year and they're horrible right now. No, Atlanta stands absolutely no chance of going to the superbowl next year

Better than Detroit and Oakland, but as bad as (or even worse than) the other 29 teams.
The biggest obstacle in Atlanta's path to the Super Bowl is their QB situation, but that's far from the only obstacle.

about 50-50... seriously we wont know until Super Bowl Sunday, the NFC South is crazy anyways... the Falcons, with some good moves, could make a strong push in the playoffs
