I know they can be jealous, and they feel compassion, I don't know about understanding.. The tilt of the head suggests concern, but not understanding what it is they are concerned about... tramatized, I think they can for the moment, but unlike people, they tend to be able to get on with things and forget about their past and start fresh.

that is extremely some thing it incredibly is very difficult to respond to. we gained't delve into an animals' concepts and now how they think of, or what they're feeling. although, it is going to likely be obtrusive to all people who spends any time with animals that they do experience some thoughts. in all risk all mammals, a minimum of, experience concern-loose thoughts at the same time with happiness, disappointment, concern, or anger. A dogs would be chuffed while his proprietor comes abode, and a small fowl would be scared while a hawk flies by ability of. those are concern-loose instincts needed for survival, and consequently maximum animals have them. greater complicated thoughts will selection for animals, besides the actuality that i in my view have confidence that all people mammals, a minimum of, experience a similar thoughts that we do, besides the actuality that perchance to a extremely lesser degree. all people with a puppy will in all risk inform you this, yet technology has to stay away from the sin of anthropomorphizing an animal to tutor issues like this concretely. I, although, have confidence that people and animals are close than we prefer to confess, and so my opinion would be different from a scientist's. (: John B; I would desire to disagree with a number of yours factors there. bugs have been shown smarter than all people thought attainable, such because of the fact the portia spiders that each and each learn dissimilar different hassle-free tactics to trick spiders of different species. Fish, even have concepts of as much as 3 months, in all risk greater. And the complexity of the concepts would have little to do with the strikes of the animal; it incredibly is evolutionary necessity that shapes the strikes and thoughts. The parrot or corvid is as clever as any chimpanzee, yet they have brains the dimensions of walnuts, that are additionally prepared quite in yet differently from a human concepts.

I think that animals can have complex emotions. I think that they know who to trust and who not to trust.

My male Siamese gets upset when I deny him something. When he is upset, he picks on his sister.
