A friend and myself want to play a ps3 game coop mode, but on two different tv's instead of split screen on one, is this possible?

I'm assuming you mean something like Time Crisis II for the arcades where you have 2 TVs, one 1 player has 1 full screen, and another player has a full screen.

It's no. At one time, Sony was thinking about it, but I guess it got too expensive, so Sony had to cut it in order to make the PS3's price reasonable for most consumers.

All the AV splitter is split the signal in two. You'll still be seeing what you're seeeing now except it will be on 2 TVs. You'll still see split screen mode on both TVs.

it is possible, but you will need to buy an AV splitter, you can usually find them at radio shak or a local game store and they're pretty cheap..

Actually I just read in the sony.com forums that you can use the existing link cable for the PS2 on your ps3!! that should make things alot easier. have fun!!
