How can i be popular...HELP!?

i am a dork at my school, my parents dont have alot of money, but i WANT TO BE POPULAR...i want people to know who i am, and i want power sorta..please dont say be yourself...i want to know what to and how to be confident, smart, and pretty...what is preppy fashion all about? I NEED ANSWERS!

First of all, you aren't a dork. being popular isn't aobout getting alll the boys, being a snob, etc. It means that people just love to be around you. Try to have a great personality. Sometimes people give me advice but the truth people in this world, usually look at your appearence before your personalty. If you want to change your hair, go ahead but you are the still the same person. If you think changing your hair so you will be pretty will work, then go ahead with that. But do it only if you are confy with iit. Some people would disagree and say looks don't matter but if you feel more prettier in it and you sill aren't in to a snob then go ahead with it.

You sound just like me, the dork in school who just wants to be popular the one who everyone's saying is cool, etc but I relised a few months ago that these people who are so called 'POPULAR' are idiots as most people i know at school who are popular are the one's who are always getting into trouble and doing the wrong things. But i've made more friends than I would of though by just talking to people about my hobbies and theres to see if they like the same things as me were these popular kids are not into anything want im into and they dont listen to you there too intrested in there own lives. Take my advice its not cool to be popular as your so called mates get you in trouble make you spend money on designer clothes which are tatotal crap!!!

Why do you think you need to have preppy clothes to be popular? Have strong personality, be funny and have lot's of attitude. Sure it's nice to have lot's of clothing, but if all you have are preppy clothes, you're going to be just a dork in preppy clothes. That's pretty lame and most people are going to see right though that.

Are you out-going? If so, join some clubs! You'll see that a lot of popular people in high school aren't in a lot of clubs unless it has to do with homecoming or prom. Try helping out with some of those. And, it's better to be on the good side of teachers because you're smart, not because you're popular. At my senior prom, the popular group couldn't even get in because the cops outside saw them stumbling out of their cars with beer cans falling out of the seats.

In the end, it doesn't matter how POPULAR you are in school. After graduation, the cliques end. Most of the popular girls I knew in high school all have beer bellies, look like crap, and are strolling fat babies with candy in their hands at the grocery stores. Some have achieved better.

It's all how you perceive yourself. There were a lot of dorks that were popular. It's all in how you get yourself out there in school.

Pick on someone less popular than you. Then, just be yourself:)

Another trick get amped up! On the way to school repeat something like: "I'm the greatest!". Scream it at the top of your lungs, except in your head. You may laugh but it worked for Ali.

Also, on the fashion. Buy well fitting, brand name, clothes from a thrift shop. It will multiple trips to find good stuff but it can be done. Ralph Lauren, Banana Rep., etc. are good brands.

Most importantly find out what you're good at and do it. Eventually everyone likes a GRACIOUS winner.

try a new wardrobe and new hairstyles. wardrobe: skinny jeans, ballet flats, cute skirts, tank-tops, wedges
some hairstyles: scrunched, curled (you can sleep in those soft curlers and they are cheap), straightened, krimped, new haircut like sidebangs with layers in the back
try wearing just a little lipgloss and blush to brighten up your look a little. u can find some at walgreens for cheap
always smile
dont act like u r trying to hard to be cool and fit in cuz that gets really annoying!!! also dont copy people all the time
u can get fake designer purses u no and they are really cute like ones from louis vutton, juicy, coach, or prada

there is nothing else i can say, just be confident with who you are, accept yourself and learn to love yourself. if people at your school judge you based on what you wear, then they are not real freinds and trust me, you want real friends, not fake b*tches who only like your clothes/money. just to let you know...looks and clothes don't make you popular...yah sure...that's what a lot of popular people have in common...but there are alotta people at my school who don't shop and abercrombie, hollister, ae, and they are popular becasue they have a great personality and are really outgoing. just be nice to people and try to be friends with everyone. let your personality shine...because that's what people remember most about you..
