I love it when my husband grows one for the winter. I wish, he wouldn't shave it.

It's possible to form an emotional attachment to anything that makes us feel psychologically more in control and worthy of other people's admiration. Hence, I think you know why you could not come to terms with cutting something away that makes you feel good about your self and enhances your self-image. Do you feel that women view you as being more masculine and in a more favorable light with the beard?

THAT's why my husband still has his (sort of scruffy look). I hide scissors behind my back and try to jump him and cut off his beard, but he's too quick.
