Hi all,
I was just wondering how to get my 6 1/2 month old to sleep longer. It does not matter what time I put her to bed. I could put her to bed at 7:00 pm or 11:00 pm and she still sleeps the same amount of time. I don't put her to bed unless I see signs of her being tired. The major sign is that she plays with her ears and scratches the back of her head. After seeing all these indicators, I put her to bed....BUT she is usually up 2-3 maybe even 4 times a night. Not to be fed, just to have her soother put in her mouth. I am getting really worn out. I just don't know what to do...any suggestions.
I have tried batheing at night....I have tried soothing/calm activities. I feed her at bedtime...so that she is full. I change her...so I think I have done everything possible...lol lol..
I would appreciate any advice...
Thanks in advance!!!

It is often quite difficult when it comes to getting our little ones to sleep. If there were only a magic wand!

A good friend recomended me this book and it helped me out a lot. It explains different tecniques that you can use that will help put your little one to sleep and stay asleep for longer periods of times.

There are several factors that can affect you little one's sleep. Reaching a new mildstone often really affects their sleep. Teething is also another one.

I do not recommend adding extra stimulants in her room cause sometimes these can have the opposite effect instead of calming them they will excite them. This is the case for my daughter. We have the ocean wonders and she will not sleep if it's in her crib. We can use it though to keep her occupied when she's awake!

One imptant this is to keep everything as predictable as possible and keep a routine so that your little one can kind of predict what she's to do next.

Best of luck my dear!

Hi, I would personally ditch the pacifier and try a few nights without it my 5 month old daughter has a winnie the pooh dream show too and its is sound sensitive so if she wakes in the night and make a loud enough noise it goes off and she lies there gurgling and watching the ceiling and she will usually drop off to sleep i will not run to her every noise or i would be up and down all night lol, you know yourself that your baby is ok, can i ask how much solid food is she eatling maybe you could increase this slightly my daughter started on solids at 4 months as she was waking at night for a feed but didnt want very much now she is on solids this has stopped, i hope you do find something to help so you get some rest x

What helped my boys sleep longer at night was at their bed time feeding I would make them a "milkshake". What I did was in an 8 oz bottle, add a jar of favorite fruit baby food, a couple of tablespoons of cereal and the rest milk. Shake well. You might have make the holes in the nipple a little bigger, but this "milkshake" is the only thing that helped my kids sleep longer and better. They would wake up alot before I started doing this. They never really ate when they would wake up, but for some reason this seemed to help.
I hope it helps you.

i'm interior the comparable right difficulty. My son is 7 a million/2 weeks previous and that i've got been letting him sleep. I easily have a remarkable pump (b/c I had to return to artwork final week) so i've got been waking up a million/2 way although the night and pumping. partly b/c of the engorgement yet extra often than not so as that my milk grant does not decrease. (whether, i don't have an overabundant grant on account that i began back to artwork or i might bypass the nightly pumping.)

wow, i really done no, sounds like youhave tried everything!!! how about a musid projector, i have the winnie slideshow and when my little one (3 and a half months) starts crying or talking it sets the music and projects on the celling keeps them amused and makes them go back of to sleep, all i can think about really, my little one has her thumb instead of dummy so just puts it back in herself, she might just always be this way when she loses it

if she is looking for her soother at night then she might be just a little bit hungry have you tried giving her a little extra in her bottle just before you put her to bed.

Stop giving her the soothie. That would be a big help. She may cry for the first few nights but will eventually take the hint.

Milk increases production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that aids sleep. Also, get them active during the day.
