Science is basically the research and study of something

Pure science takes a more mathematical approach.

Applied science ( such as sociology) applies the scientific research to specific human needs.

It is like bananas, apples and oranges are all fruit. In the same way sociology, astronomy and geometry etc.are all science.

I wont consider it a science but a sudy. It can't be science because youre talking about behavior, which is not measurable.
