I am looking to start my own business from home and have a few ideas, but I have no idea how to start up a website that would sell my items. Also, where would I find suppliers that I could buy my items from?

hi, if you use Microsoft's office live programme you can get the domain, hosting, domain emails, web design tools and more for free, or low cost for more options.
i work from home and have set up a website using this for my own small business - it's simple to use and gives my business a whole new lease of life.
i won't post the link as last time i did i got a violation notice! - as apparently Microsoft are yahoo's rivals! but if you search the Internet, or Microsoft's own site i'm sure you'll find all the details. if not email me and i'll give you details.
good luck with your venture

Try with Global Domains International; you'll get a website with a .ws domain, for 10$ a month, and free hosting.
You can start your business there, and also get paid by this company to register other people: they'll pay you 1$, every month, for each person you register, so they also get their website, when you have 10people, the page will be free for you.
But the thing is that they pay you 1$ for each person that the people you got in, regeisters, for 5levels, so you can actually get a lot of money.
I'd like to get something clear: it's not a pyramid, it's multilevel marketing, that's totally legal, you can look around aywhere and you won't find anyone saying bad thins about it.
Global Domains International has been in investing magazines, as the 37th fastest growing company in USA, and was named the company of the month in the network business journal.
The first week is free, the payment is totally safe, as you only give your credit card number , not your account number.
Another great incentive is that you can get bonuses of 100$ for just getting 5people in, in a week.
I really encourage you to try thisbusiness, you've got nothing to lose and a lot to win...

To make money on the internet deal with a product you love or service that you are well familiar with.Find a niche market otherwise you may lose your hard earned money without making a dime.Believe or not 98% of people doing business on the internet do not make a dime.Learn about marketing on the internet in your local library and avoid spending money on materials of "how to......on the internet" You can google for suppliers or for drop shippers. But be assuared that internet marketing is very competative and complex.Wish you luck.

I use Web Hero for registering sites and for the hosting of the pages. Here is a guide to starting a site: http://www.richkahmer.com/build-a-website.html

As far as suppliers, you might want to do a search on Yahoo for "blind shippers".
This way when someone orders from you the product is shipped directly from the warehouse. You don't store an inventory.

Hiya, there are plenty of off the shelf websites you can build such as mine. have a look at www.westwycombepainters.com I built that from '2 minute websites' and I think there's a link on to click too. As far as commercial or e-commerce sites are concerned then you can approach 'World Pay' or Pay Pal
Good luck!
