that depends. are there legitimate reasons for you to feel those ways? or are they more like over-powering, all-consuming feelings, regardless of what is going on in your life? if it's the latter, then yes, you are probably depressed. it also depends on your age. if you're anywhere from 12 to about 20, you're just a teenager, and being a teenager is enough to depress anybody! seriously, the teen years are rough for everybody, so don't be too quick to diagnose yourself as depressed or try medicine. give yourself time. but if you're an adult, try talking to a counselor or even reading a good self-help book. maybe one of those will help you to gain a better perspective on your life and help you really figure out if you're depressed because things really do suck, or because you think they suck. good luck to you.

If you do then yes..you are...
But this is the trick...it's ok to be this way...every person that has breath in their lungs always feel this from time to time...
Let yourself be this way instead of letting your self down for feeling this way....No one will admit it but no one is happy nor not depressed all the time..if they are then they live in a plastic bubble and they believe the world is wraped in a pink bow.
It's ok to feel this way and once you let yourself vent this out or even talk with a friend (NOT A DOCTOR) you can be better...

Nobody wants to feel the way you are feeling, including you. I am feeling the main reason you are so upset lately is that you are not connected to enough other people. So, if you can find ways to accomplish meeting new people, this will help you a lot to get a better outlook and not revert to something like a drug program or counselling or whatever. That feeling of disconnect will do it every time. I am feeling so strongly that it is just a matter of connecting with others. If you have broken off contact with a friend or friends recently, that would do it - the way you are feeling right now. I strongly encourage you to keep your eyes open for opportunities to be with others. As you get older, the one thing which keeps you feeling content and safe inside is being with others, able to talk to them from your heart, and knowing they really care about what happens to you, and with you. If you have contact with your friends now, deepen your friendships with all of them in every way you can, because that will help heal your hurting outlook which you described above. The first thing you have done recently which is about 80% of the cure for the way you feel is to tell all of us here about it, in other words, you have acknowledged now very clearly how you feel inside. That might have made you feel a little vulnerable, but in so doing, you are going to read some neat answers here from people who find your feelings no joke at all, but who will take you completely seriously and try to reach in from their hearts to make your life a little happier. The other thing besides being connected with others, is apparently the feeling of safety. Make sure your environment is safe. Make your room more pleasant to be in. Check your closet and bureau for outdated wardrobe. My God, I was down in our basement this afternoon looking at all the stuff I am holding onto which I have outgrown, and I thought "Who was it who stored all of this stuff down here - ?" And then I realised it was none other than myself. I have become a new person, so now, no matter how well organised it is to the eye, I have to go through all that stuff and bring myself current, and you will strongly benefit from doing the same - clearing out and donating the older stuff either to friends or charity, will bring you more present in the here and now to deal with who you are right this minute - a chance to reinvent yourself into a stronger, self-reliant and independent Spirit, capable of handling everything. If you have been feeling stubborn or irritable, that is good too, because it is a sign of your mental health asserting itself. I hope this reply helps you get a start on being a new person within yourself and it is being sent to you with tons of good energies from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. (I am 63 years old and have to work on all this stuff every day of my life. We grow up in so many ways every day, you have to keep right on top of things, and the stuff you know is that important to you...)
