Yup.. at 63, I'm gettin kinda used to it...seems the older i get , the more things there are....but all in all, i gotta say, my life is richer for the lessons in the life i have known. Not that the things i suppress are positive, or fun , or good...they were painful, hurtful, embarrassing, even shame full....but i learned a living lesson from them, one and all.
The 'teaching' of the lessons become applicable when i finally stopped denying, and accepted my own actuality in reality.
You don't have to be my age to do things that way...i could have done it earlier....i was just scared of jugementality, opinions, rejection, criticism, confidence...whatever...

Hi,
I think we all do to a certain extent, as no one usually shows all emotions to everyone, thus they are holding something in and surpressing it. I have an eating disorder, therefore I try to surpress my urges to react certain ways to food in order to control it. I also try to surpress the need to cry in many situations because I find it embarressing, even though it really is a strength. I think we all surpress things we see in ourselves as weaknesses, because we don't want others to see this. but it's a good question x
