we were talking about forrest gump today and my friend said he was part of watergate, and i've seen the movie probably 5 times, and i don't recall any watergate-thing. if he was, what did he do?? and where in the movie was it?? sorry-kind of seems like a stupid question, but i really want to know.

When he visits the White House again and meets Nixon, He tells him what hotel he is staying and Nixon suggests he stay in another hotel which is brand new and modern. This is the the Watergate hotel. He calls the desk at the hotel to say to apartment across the way is keeping him up because of all the noise and the flashlights. This is the Democratic party headquarters that the was broken into which started the Watergate scandal.

He was staying at the Watergate hotel I believe, Nixon put him up there. Forrest called down to the desk to let them know the electricity in the building across the parking lot must be out since there was someone moving around the office(s) with a flashlight. Thus, he was responsible for the capture of the burglar(s).

Yes, he was at the Watergate hotel and called security to report that the power was out across from him. He knew it was out because he saw some guys moving around the rooms with flashlights.

Yeah, he was involved in the reporting of the agents who were in the room planting the listening devices in whats now known as the Watergate Hotel. It was because of Forest Gump that Watergate was exposed...
To go further in the movie, it was when he was in Washington D.C. with Jennay... haha

I think he called the cops to report something suspicious he saw from his window while staying in the Watergate hotel. Of course, that turned out to be the burglary that started the whole scandal.
