You know, since amish people don't like to be modern...then what do they use?
Or better yet, what did people use back in the day before tampons/pads were invented??
It's an interesting subject that doesn't seem to have an answer... or so my friends & i concluded....
it was science class, and we were bored, so random topics came up.
but ANYWAY! Any answers to the question?? =]

They use pads.
The carpenter my father uses is amish. I saw them in his house when they were discussing some work to be done.
They are against technological innovations that demonstrate pride (such as buttons) or disrupt a sense of community (which is why electricty is a threat to the Amish way of life) - but they are not agasint hygiene.

The Amish are opposed to many things modern, but they will use your phone to make a call when necessary.

Cloth pads.
Women have used cloth for year and years. You just wash them and use them again.
I use them. They're a lot better for the environment than disposables.

I'm guessing they used leaves or cotton or something like that...haha...that or pieces of clothes...Man, that must of sucked huh?

they used big clothy diapers. Luckily, we aren't amish huh? =) that's probably why they have to wear dresses. i don't think they'd fit in pants.
