that wants him, care for him and give him the love he deserves!? His mom abandoned him at birth and some are saying it's a part of nature to have left him to die. I say, put him in a zoo where he can get the proper caring and visitors to the zoo will enjoy seeing him.

Nature is very wise and if the mom abandoned him, there is probably a reason, either there is something wrong with the cub, or she felt unsafe when she abandoned him, but if there is a zoo that could take proper care of him, why not? I don't understand how someone who called themselves "human" could do such a cruel thing as to let him die just because.
Do we let human babies found in trash cans die, just because their mom abandoned them?

I was in shock to read about that. I see nothing wrong with the zookeeper wanting to save it's life and raise it. People all around the world do it for all kinds of other animals from Bear to Tigers, Oh My! how could they say it would be humane to let the poor thing die of starvation???
I don't get some people

I think he'll do very well in a zoo. Many animals are brought up in zoos when that is their only option, and they turn out just fine as embassadors of their species to the public who don't get to see them in the wild. Plus, Knut could help with polar bear breeding because his genes will bring some variety into the captivity gene pool.

Animal rights activists should be beaten, set on fire, pissed on, and beaten again.
Nothing to do with the polar bear cub, just something we should all do for fun.
