I want to find a good base that evens out my skin, stays on for a long time, is matte and of course matches my skin as much as possible. I've never bought any beacuse I do not like earing too much makeup but I would like to have it for special occasions in which I need to put a little more makeup on.

Max Factor Pan Stick is really good for perfect looking skin. It is a little heavier than my other choice, which is Cover Girl Ultimate finish liquid powder make-up. I used pan stick for years and now Max Factor has become harder to find...that's why I started using Cover Girl and I find it to be lighter. Both create a flawless look, most people don't even realize I have on makeup!! I hate the feeling of having on makeup.

I only use Clinique products now, but before I realized the major difference between retail products and higher end products, I used Nuetrogena. No makeup is ever 110% perfect as everyone's skin is different, but I had a very pleasant experience using the Nuetrogena line of cosmetics.

I've also had great experience with Max Factor products.

Dream Matte Mousse(maybelline) is the best if you aren't big on makeup. It's sheer and easy to match and it won't be overbearing. I've used it since it came out and I love it.

Also NYC has a good sheer powder that's inexpensive.

Cover Girl is good but dont use the Foundation if you have oily skin. Beyond that, everything is perfect

Whichever brand you decide to go with, I'd use a lightly moist cosmetic sponge to smooth and blend so it doesn't look and feel heavy.
