No they're not compatible. DS games run off a slightly different technology than the game boy games. That's why the DS can play gameboy games in the GB slot, but a GB can't play DS games.

Like everyone else says, No it does't play DS games bc it came out long before a DS concept was released.
The DS was made for more interaction with the Wii than the Gamecube. That's why hardly anything on the DS is reverse compatible with the Cube.

You can play Nindento DS games if you have Nintendo DS.
Game Boy and Nintendo DS are different. So if you don't have Nintendo DS, you can't play Nintendo DS games.

nope. the DS uses cards, instead of cartidges, which don't fit into the Player. I think the Player came out before the DS was released.
