Yes, I've stayed in a couple. Some were way to "homey" or lacking in privacy, others were so great we inquired about investing. So a 1-10 scale doesn't work for me.
Avg costs $90-$210

My only experience was when I was 10yr old and in New Zealand with my grandparents. We stayed in one that was old country style and made of really thick mud walls. I remember that at dinner time we were sitting at a lovely huge wooden table and I looked up and saw a really huge rifle and sword hanging on the wall and thinking that the man was going to kill us during the night and hide our bodies in the walls.....I was only ten!!!! I think back and it was one of the most enjoyable places I have stayed at, it had a real country style feel to it, different experience than i had ever had before, Very satisfied, we sat down to dinner and breakfast with the family, but I'm not sure how much we payed. I would recommend a real country B&B experience though. Just look out for rifles and swords before you take a kid though!!!

I've stayed in many. A wonderful haunted one in NOLA (rates an 8), a beautiful old farmhouse in Virginia with a chef on the premises and a taproom (rates a 10 easily), a lovely old antebellum home in Snowhill MD. The rooms were lovely but I got food poisoning from their breakfast (rates a 2...food poisoning REALLY stinks), an old plantation home in VA...also lovely (an 8), an usual Tudor type home in Vermont (rates a 5) and a lovely farmhouse in Ohio (rates a 7). Costs vary from $95 to $275 a night.

Yes,I have! Well, B&Bs are like hotels...there are cheap ones and expensive ones. I usually stay "in the middle". Sometimes they're run by families and I find it a nice thing, cause they've helped me many times in the cities I was giving me informations and sometimes even showing me the city (I'm not a perv!!! But as I do love travelling alone, some people are sooo kind to help me and making my staying even more enjoyable). If you want, some of them also offer the possibility to have lunch and dinner (of course the price is not included, unless you specify it when you book) From 0 to 10....11 ;-) And I've visited almost EVERY European country!

I have stayed in several bed and breakfasts In Eastern and Southern US. Some experiences have been favorable others were a disappointment. All were exceptionally clean. I am not one to make conversation at breakfast with other lodgers.

When I was younger I stayed at B& B. Prices might be a bit higher now. Satisfaction scale 4 to 6 depending on the place.

I would rate my experience as a 9. The place was perfect--it had season-themed rooms, TV, comfortable beds, Jacuzzis in the bathroom--except I found a bugger on one of the glasses they set out for drinking. That, in a way, ruined what could have been a perfect experience. I do not know how much the cost would have been because my grandmother paid for it.
This was in Maryland.

B&B's are great. But you have to find one that meets your needs. Just call and speak to the person in charge to see what amenities they offer. They can range anywhere from 150-600+ a night depending on where it is. One weird thing is you eat with total strangers. But alot more quaint than a hotel. Yes, I stayed in one in Salem Mass. It was pricey for 1 night but it was wonderful. The room was beautifully decorated. The breakfast was very good.
Keep in mind, you share a bathroom, b/c it's a house.
I've stayed in Vinalhaven, Maine in one also. Very remote & quaint. The food was good also.

No but my moms cousin runs one. The one that she runs is $72 a night for 2 with breakfast included. She has 5 rooms. I like my privacy so I wouldn't stay at one.
This is my mom's cousins B&B.
