i get mournou and andruw jones for big papi and markakis...i think markakis could have a major season but is it a good trade

Markakis may have a good year, but so will Mournou and Jones. Sure Jones' batting average isn't the best (.262 last season), but he got a lot of HRs and RBIs. Mournou, obviously, is the reigning AL MVP. Hopefully he'll repeat his performance of last season to some degree.
All your giving up is one player with proven talent. Your getting two players with proven talent.

Extremely Bad trade. Ortiz will get your a bit more Rbi's and more homers but will lose to Mournou on Average and SB. Now Jones is a proven 40 homers 100 Rbi and a 10-15 steal guy. Markakis is not.
So lets go by combined stats
Ortiz+Marakakis= 155 r 65 homers 200 rbi and about.278 ba with about 10 steals
Mournou and Jones 210 r 80 homers 250 rbi's BA .297 and 20 Steals
So in every category Mournou and Jones are better. Do not settle for Markakis. He will not be that good.

It is a good deal. Morneau and Jones are proven commodities and Morneau tips the scales in your direction because of the superior BA. I agree Markakis looks like a future star and will likely have a very productive year but even if he does you still have a wash in HR & RBI and you gain a fair amount of extra BA (even with Jones and his .262). Markakis may still be too free a swinger so his BA will likely be around .280. Plus dont forget that it is a contract year for Jones...never discount the importance of star players putting up huge numbers on a contract year (they tend to get rid of any distractions...money seems to inspire many a ballplayer).

Maybe, it depends on who else is on your team. Mourneau had a break-out year last year, and Andruw is always amazing. Big Papi is aging, and Markakis could have his break-out year this year. It is a good trade overall.

GOOD TRADE if you need those positions filled. Mournou and jones are big time players ortiz and markakis is ok.

yes it is Jones is a free agent this year and we all know what happenes when a player is a free agent they tear it up during the season.
