Is it possible to employ carefully developed psychological techniques, to guide our thought and opinion so that we can be in tune with the "in" crowd, the "beautiful people," the "smart money." They let us know exactly what our attitudes should be toward various types of people and behavior by placing those people or that behavior in the context of a TV drama or situation comedy and having the other TV characters react in the Politically Correct way. Are we sheep, sheeple or what?

oh of course how do you think ww2 happened i really dont beleive all of those germans hated jews that much i think it was a combination of bigots in the right places , cohorsion, back room meetings and various other sub plots, really to be honest it's no differant now a days we have been lied in to a war thats unjust and not needed and called traitor when we question it and kool aid drinkers for wanting the truth all the while stripping our rights in the name of it all it really does sound like the fledgling of pre ww2 germany i cry for my country some times and it breaks my heart about whats going on and i really cant wrap my mind around this god appointed pres stuff (that meaning not only did he say that but he leads as if he where appointed by god with no reguards for the consincies and the thought of his nation) so yes we are heavily influneced by these people i listen to both right and left wing talk shows michel savage, nedved, fraken, rhodes, young turks, rush i think alot of these people would be pissed just to be mentioned in the same breath but after listening to both of them it's obvious that the right are just insane they make no vaild points and on the rare occasion they do they screw it up a few weeks later when the truth comes out , media lives in every faucet of our lives and we have are and will always be mind screwed at some level or another becuase of it

I think EVERYTHING influences us in one way or another; key is to be aware of what they're doing. And even then, sometimes I'm aware of what they're doing and I still find myself following! This is particularly powerful/frustrating with ads that influence us to buy something/promote brand loyalty.

All I can say is, the best defence against becoming a sheeple is self education on negotiation and advertising tactics.

Good luck.

Only if you choose to pay attention to them. Only if you choose to eat their food and drink their wine. Once you accept someones way as being how it is, that becomes apart of who you are. You are right, the news is a memetic masterpiece of good intentions. However it was once said "The road to hell is paved with good intentions".
