Your mom and your sister are the best girlfriends that you will ever have, so you shouldn't be afraid to talk to either of them. Maybe you were showing symptoms of PMS and your mom picked up on them, so she gave you pads to be prepared. Especially if your sister has her period now (and maybe your mom too) because women who live together tend to have similar timing for their menstrual cycles. Anyway, it sounds like she's already trying to be open with you about it, so you should reciprocate and talk to her. I know that it is embarrassing at your age, but every woman goes through it so your mom will understand. Just find some time that you can talk to her alone and be direct. If you want to ease into it, say something like "Hey Mom, thanks for giving me those pads yesterday. You must be psychic, because they sure came in handy today!"

Be thankful that you have a mother who prepared you in advance. Some girls have mothers that don't tell them anything at all, and other girls don't have mothers at all. Welcome to womanhood. :)

Hey! Congrats! Unfortunatly, I was so scared/embarassed to tell my mom that I waited 2 years and a half to tell her! Don't do what I did...it's so much harder than actually telling her. There is nothing to be ashamed of, it is a completely normal thing to go through. What I did was when we were in Walmart I kinda just said really quickly "Mom, I need pads". Just was upset when I told how long it took to tell her because she wants me to be comfortable to tell her anything, especially if it's bothering me. Good luck!

You tell your mom that you would like to talk to her privately (if other people are around) about something if she has a few minutes. Then start the conversation with something like, "I wanted to thank you for putting those pads in my backpack for me yesterday because I started in school today."

Something like that.

just tell her. she's been through it and knew you were getting close. that's why she bought you pads. And it may be nice to know you're not going through this new experience in your life alone. Also, it may be nice to share with her and she can give you advise. If you really don't want to tell her to know though, since they're in your backpack, unless you're having problems, i don't guess its necessary to tell her, but sooner or later she'll find out. I wish you all the best.

I remember when I first started, I went on a trip to my friends and my mom told me that I should start, and what are the odds, I did. It was scary to me at the time and embarrassing, because I didn‘t want to tell my friend or her mom.
It's ok, I know it's kind of awkward at first, but just tell your mom.

Blessings!

What is so scary about telling your mother that u got your period, its a natural thing!!!

My youngest daughter was all of the time asking me when she would get hers.

Just say " hey mom guess what, I GOT MY PERIOD" its that simple

I would have to say you should talk to your mom. I hope when the time comes for my daughter to get her period she feels that she can talk to me about it. I would rather she find things out from me rather than from the kids at school.

Wright your mom an e-mail or letter that tells her that you got your period. That is how I did it. She isn't in the room when I tell her so it isn't embracing and she doesn't start freaking out.
