The Ducks are bi-polar. Can't get up for bad teams. However, when they do, they are the best team in hockey. And, if anybody ever deserved to win a cup, its Teemu Selanne. However, he loves his family and doesn't want to have his boys grow up without his being there. He's been knocked around and beat up for 14 years. His body is getting tired. Altho you can't tell it by the way he's playing. He has leadership, guts, stamina, records, skill, personality, and, uhm, looks. :) All he needs is a ring. If he gets it, I think he will retire. If he doesn't get it this year, odds are maybe 50-50 he will come back to try again.

He is having an MVP type of season and seems to be in great shape so I couldn't see it one way or the other. Although, Swedes and Finns can be funny about wanting to return home. I am not sure of his family situation but it may lay on being a family decision. If it is his, I am sure he will play. Sweden/Finland have high qualities of living with good schools. I think I read somewhere that secondary education there is free (could have been Sweden though) and that the education system is second to none so if he has small children then maybe. I know guys like Lidstrom and Forsberg long to go home. Renberg is already gone (wife thing I think) so who knows????? My money is on atleast a couple of more years though especially with the last couple he has had and how the game has changed to his favor.

Selanne's great for the game and there is nothing about his play that would suggest he should hang'em up. Furthermore, he's one of the sport's truly good guys and I'd like to see him back whether the Ducks pull it off this year or not

he's probably having his best season. I like Selanne and I do hope he can get his ring, which he deserves.

I don't know about this year though. Vancouver and Detroit will be tough challenges for the Ducks.

Unfortunately, I think it will be the Red Wings, not the Ducks going for the West. As well as he and the Ducks have been playing though I think he will give it another season or two better he hangs it up.

LOL, I knew this was your question. Some would argue that he's in his prime, considering how well he's doing. He's not that old, though, and others have gone longer than 14 years and still kept their families happy. If he retires, what are you going to do?

No. And he shouldn't.

I hope the toothless wonder will keep on rolling on his new knees as long as he can.
