The carb is probably junked up, and you probably ought to get it a new plug. I'd clean and tune (if possible) the carb and put a new, gapped plug in and see if that works. Also, sure sure the choke setting is correct at start (3/4 or full choke) and then after running awhile (no choke).

Ok if it runs with gas being ingested through the carb you have one of several problems. Is the fuel tank that it gets it gas from full .2nd There is generally an electric fuel pump in line to the generator. Can you here the pump run?.If not confirm there is a pump and if there is a pump if its not running why. there should be power on the pump when switched to the run position.3rd check fuel filter to make sure ts not clogged. Make sure fuel line from tank to generator is not rotted or cracked as to were it would suck air. If all this checks good. Take fuel hose off at generator carb and have someone crank engine. You should see gas coming out of the hose if not go back and recheck power pump fuel delivery etc.If all this checks good your needle and seat are stuck in the closed position.Try gently bumping the carb with a soft handle screw driver end several times. Do not strike hard. All you are trying to do is dislodge the float and seat. If this fails the the bowl will need to come off and dislodge the needle and seat. You will need to replace the old gaskets and seals you remove with new ones due to the fact they will probley be hard and brittle good luck

Make sure you have enough oil in the engine, I am not familiar with this particular generator, but alot of the newer gens have a safety switch that will not let the engine run if the oil pressure is low.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Check all the hoses and fittings closely.
