It really depends on what college you go to and what their general education classes require. Psychology would be a benefit to you if you did want to become a lawyer, even if it's not required. With psychology you can learn about how people think, their motives, and actions.

No. I didn't find basic psychology helpful at all. Psychology is helpful, but it wasn't anything I got out of a book. Human interaction and learning to read people through actual practice has been the most helpful "psychology" I have. Even had law school classes where this was essentially one of the most important things to learn in that class.
