one time me and my friend were walking around campus and it started to rain a little bit and these two older guys passed us and said "You better hurry, sugar melts in the rain"

Genuine this: The tourist Information place at Ironbridge (England) regularly gets people asking which bank of the river the bridge is on!

And when video tape first became easily available to the plebs I had a mother-in-law who asked me about doing "take-aways". After some questioning it turned out that she really meant "rip-offs".

When I was eating beans on toast a few years ago, one of the beans looked up at me as I was forking some of his associates into my mouth and said in a really condisending voice "we havent come here to entertain the likes of you young man". I was flabbergasted at the things front!
