Here are the factors in determining cost:
1. Complexity of car design. If you have an older 106, the paint is going to be cheaper, because its not a very complex design.
2. Steps required in paint. You would have to find out how many steps were taken when they painted the ice blue color. I have a car that has a factory 3 step paint. That means its: base color, different top color, and clear coat. Rolls Royce has a 16 step paint. This all determines cost
3. Prep work. If you have dings all over the car, its going to take more prep work, so its going to cost more.
4. Quality of paint. If they are using oem paint, its going to cost more (dont ask me why, it seems like it should be cheaper).
Thats the basics when it comes to car painting.
Now quality of work.
You can get a car sprayed for $500 (US), but they obviously didnt do it correctly.
A high quality paint job requires:
1. Engine removal and engine bay painting
2. Bare metal sanding (they should completely strip the car down to the bare metal)
3. painting door jams (a cheap paint job ignores this).
4. The use of 'fish oil' additives for plastic parts. There are many different forms of this, but the most common is fish oil. It allows the paint to flex on bumpers. If youve ever seen a car that had a decent paint job, but the bumpers were showing the yellow underneath, this is due to the lack of additives in the paint.
So a high quality paint job, with little/no body prep work, using a 2-3 step oem paint on a 90ish 106 should run you between $2000-$3000 (US) (the $3000 would be on the 2000+106)
A cheap paint job, with no body work, just sanding off the top coat (not to bare metal), using aftermarket paint for a 90ish 106 would run about $500-1200 (US)

If you don't need any body work, that is a big savings.... anything over $2000 sounds like it is overpriced.... go to a few shops and ask, any reputable body/paint shop should and will offer a free estimate... then you have the luxury of your choice.

Depends on many factors. I'd go to a body shop and get an estimate. Be prepared to spend a couple thousand though.

I don't think a professional would use spray paint on a car.
