I have some movies on the hard drive of my laptop and I recently burned one of them onto a recordable DVD disc, or so I thought, I followed all the on screen prompts/instructions and the whole process took about 4 mins.
The DVD disc will play back perfectley through my laptop but will not play on my regular DVD player that is hooked up to my TV, the message "unknown DVD" comes up on screen.
can anyone out there help me, cos i've got some good films I'd like to watch.

Krzkid is right. Also sometimes, whether or not the DVD says it will play on that particular player, it will still not play. This is the basic and simple fact that most DVD player distributors have a "lock" to where it will not play boot-legged DVD's.

Check the type of discs you buy. Sometimes the type, and sometimes the brand, can help rid you of the pain and hassle of going through this ordeal.

I hope I could help you.

You dvd is a dvd cd - and it needs to be a plus or the other way around it has to do with that. Look at the pack of dvds and look for things the dvd can play on.
