Here is an interesting sight that discusses each plague in detail and explains their natural occurance but gives God His due for these terrible wonders which manifested His power and were meant to change Pharoah's mind.

I wouldn't fool with silly works of scholarship like "Exodus Decoded" because although they give some evidence that these types of phenomena have occured in Egypt they give NO rational proof or explanation for the exact timing and devastation described in the Bible.

Yes, we've had frogs and rivers turning dark red and hail in Egypt....but when has this ever happened one at a time and precisely at God's command and with such devasation?

Back in 2006, the Discovery Channel aired a program on this topic called "Exodus Decoded", produced (and partly narrated) by James Cameron and containing the theories of Simcha Jacobovici, whom I would describe as a "pop archaelogist" as opposed to a formal scholar.

This program argues that all of the plagues of Egypt resulted from a natural cause, a toxic gas explosion from underneath the Nile. According to Jacobovici, this badly disrupted Egypt's environment and brought on the infestations of insects and vermin.
