Arnold, just attached himself to the Rep bandwaggon that was after Gray Davis and then as the most well know candidate won office as a Rep in name only. His policies have always been Dem and he follows what his Uncle Teddy would want. Its time the Reps of Calif unleashed their ties to him and found a real candidate.

Arnold WAS a Rep, until his skiing accident. They claim it was just a broken leg.. but I think he hit his head, too.

Arnold didn't win because he's a Republican. California, where i live, is a bright blue state and Arnold was headed for defeat in 2006 but changed his views and came to the political left and the voters awarded him with an easy reelection victory. We intially elected Arnold because he had some decent ideals to get us out of the economic slump which Gray Davis' had nothing to do. the dot.com bubble burst really hurt the bay area economy and the energy crisis looked bad for Davis, but i don't blame him, he had nothing to do with this. But Arnold won merely because he was famous celebrity and name recognition in contemporary politics mean a lot. But Arnold is doing a good job and his poll numbers are very high.

Not all Republicans believe exactly the same things, just as not all Democrats believe all the same things. Allow for some individuality rather than mindless conformity to the herd.
