I mean it is one thing to protest him..but some go as far as to call him names. This is highly uncalled for. He is the leader of our country, and whether or not you like him; you should give him the respect he deserves. It is very surprising to me that this is the only country in the world that this is tolerated in. In england it is considered treason.

and as far as kadydid and lisa's respect is earned. The very fact that he was voted into office he earned the respect he deserves from the american people.

Yeah, there was a time when there were sane restrictions on free speech, but nowadays, if you so much as think about telling people they can't say things like "Go rape small children, and here's how!", then suddenly it's unconstitutional. Although, some non-profit organizations (or anyone affiliated with them in some cases) are forbidden to engage in free speech, lest they lose their exemptions.

1. We're not England, and England has freedom of speech like us, so your lil bit at the end was really just plain off. Also only in dictatorships, are criticisms of a leader a punishable offense.
2. I don't give respect to a leader who doesn't respect the people he leads, or this country. I love this country to death, I will defend it every time, I just don't show the same love for anyone who gives America a bad name. (i.e. this current administration)
3. The people who "respect" the president seem to take great pride in calling the dissenters names such as :Un-American, America-haters, Terrorist sympathizers ,cowards, socialists, communists, traitors, among other things. The pendulum swings both ways buddy.

First of all, were you wondering the same thing back in the 90s when the Republicans were calling Clinton all sorts of names? This is hardly new.
Second of all, respect should be earned, and Bush hasn't done anything to earn mine.

Sure if you want to call the Left people. Those people don't believe in executing Saddam. They think Clinton was a saint. They say 911 was a Bush planned action. How can you even listen to that type of PERSON name used loosely.

Obama stated he needed to basically substitute usa. words recommend issues and look into how issues have long previous. i do no longer believe he's making blunders i think issues are determining purely as he needs. And Obama isn't a astonishing guy.

Respect must be earned. I've yet to see mr. bush do anything that deserves my respect. Name calling? If the shoe fits, wear it.

We do.
99% of us do.
You might want to ask why the president has so little intention to start respecting the will of the people.

The reason why many of us don't respect him is because we don't believe he has EARNED our respect. You talk as though we should respect him just because he is the president, but do you think that all of the Germans should have respected Hitler simply because he was the chancellor of Germany?

Many people are very aware of their rights. They seem a little weak on the responsibilities that accompany those rights.
Does free speach mean say anything without consideration to who may be listening?
