Colorful Violins?
I want to buy a violin that is turquoise or light blue. I tried searching many sites, but some look like they might be scams. I don't want to pay alot of money either. Can someone tell me where I can buy one on the internet that's cheap but good. I'm a student violinist and this is just for practice and concerts. Any bought one on the internet (besides ebay) that's good and colorful and cheap? please tell me the site...
Violins do come in color- they arent any different they are just spraypainted. I think the ones you are thinking of are electric violins- (they do exist) and they sound different and are more common to be different colors. A spray painted violin shouldn't make a difference in sound unless its not just spray painted, but a whole different material...
I do have a normal violin- its a real one that l paid $1,200 for it. Now I just want something for fun. I need another violin anyways.
*HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY BOUGHT A VIOLIN ON THE INTERNET THAT IS GOOD

This company had colored violins in the past, even some with flowers on them. I don't see any listed on their website now.But you could request a catalog and see what is in their catalog.Hope this helps. I have ordered string supplies from this company going on about 25 years.

Err...
I have, the case went to an early grave within a few months though.
My violin which I bought from ebay works fine and is in good condition.
Colored violins do work.
My stand partner has a light blue one with yellow butterflies painted on it.
I think she said she got it from a website.
Hers, I saw like a regular violin.
It sounded just fine and in tune.
The feel of it wasn't something that was cheaply spray painted.
It was glossy and smooth like a regular violin.
So you can believe that they do exist.
But I'm sure there are scams out there.
Personally, I think Ebay would be a good choice.
Just check the seller's feedback for reassurance.

I haven't purchased a violin, and this answer may not help you at all. When I buy instruments I usually do so at http://www.musiciansfriend.com. I checked the violin section, however, and didn't see the color you requested. You may be able to contact them because sometimes they have things that are not listed on their site.

There is a music store in Georgia called KEN STANTON MUSIC. They have a website (just their name). They are really good about knowing things like this. All of their staff are musically trained.
