The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.
I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.
Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can. Here are some book titles that are relevant:
* Starting an Online Business For Dummies, 4th Edition by Greg Holden
* How to Start and Maintain A Successful Online Business by Kelly Thornton
* The Complete E-Commerce Book: Design, Build, and Maintain a Successful Web-Based Business by Janice Reynolds

You could put together promotional kits for start up music groups to send to production companies: posters, CD demo, website, promotional items, music video, etc.
It's not a completely online job but it involves a lot of computer work and it doesn't necessarily involve a lot of face to face contact.

Well, if you're really serious about starting a profitable long-term business, it's important to get your basics right. Most online businesses barely make enough to break even. So you've got to be willing to invest in a good useful guide. There are quite alot of resources available online.

Then build content on it. Like an online cookbook or free tips on something (maybe how to produce music). Once you have the site up, spread the word. Email everyone you know and ask them to pass it around.
