I had an affair with a married woman. Suddenly, last November she broke it off. However, she was insistant that we still be friends. She still emails me constantly (nothing romantic), about 5-10 times a day. I told her "no friendship" if the affair was over we needed to call it quits and make a clean break. She got very angry that I would refuse to have a friendship with her. As I said, she has continued to email me over these past months. She still wears a watch and necklace that I bought her (I've seen her in "mutual places.)

She says that she loves me only as a friend, not romantically. My question is this: does she still love me romantically and won't admit it or is this normal behaviour after an affair is stopped? I have tried to avoid her but am guilty of staying in contact via email.

I think she is just keeping you in the backburner just in case things go wrong in her marriage or she feels the urge to be with you. If this is what she is doing than she is being very selfish, you need to move on.

You are Plan B, her escape plan if things don't work out with her husband. She also doesn't sound mentally stable, so I would stay as far away possible. The notion that you can have an affair and than somehow remain friends after breaking things off is completely ridiculous...she just hasn't realized this yet.

You have to be very careful it's just stupid to have affairs with married women because it can become deadly. Do you know her husband? Ever thought what would happen if he ever found out. She probably stop seeing you because she got cold feet she might think her husband was getting suspicious so she's trying to keep you on a short leash.
Hopefully she will get over it and you get a wake-up call to be with single women only.

She sounds like a lieing, cheating bit#@. How selfish of her not to honor your feelings when you asked for a 'clean slate' and to have no contact or friendship with her! She really got mad?!! She was the one who was cheating on her spouse and went back to that spouse, not you! She wants to keep you on a shelf just in case she might want to play with you some day. Do yourself a favor and find a loving, AVAILABLE woman, and one who is not so narcisistic.

Yeah, you need to break all contact with her, she sounds a bit nutty and obsessed. You could always tell her husband, that should solve the problems.
