Ok i had this dilemma too. I had an ipod and when it broke i replaced it with a zune so here are some stuff that may help. Price: Zune=250, 30g ipod video=250, ipod nanos are less varying on size. Size: Zune is 30g which is about 5-7000 songs and a good amount of video., The ipods range from 30 to 80g but 30 is usually plenty. the nanos are all under about 4g. Zune: the zune has many new things that the ipod video doesn't such as a larger screen, a different type of navigation( no spinning click wheel) it has a radio with tons of presets and a wireless option to share songs with other zunes but since there so new there aren't to many people to share them with. Also because its so new not to many companies are making products for it unlike the ipod. For software the zune's is very unorganized, slow and just doesn't seem very efficient but i just use that to put music on i still use itunes for all other music needs. the zune itself is a little bigger but still small enough to not be noticed. it has the new buttons that take a little while to get used to but they work fine. Ipod: the ipod has gone through many generations and models and has very good and dependable technical support. it offers a wide range of products and accessories. its software is great but forces you to convert a lot of you material which can sometimes lessen the quality. it comes in a wide range of varieties. It has games and podcast (zune doesn't but i didn't use them much anyway) and it has the calender and date and time(Zune makers seemed to have left this out of there product, idiots) and lots of other accessories. really the ipod is the safer bet. but its really personal preference because the radio does come in handy on the zune and its screen is great but the ipod has all of its good qualities and advantages. you should see if any friends have an ipod or zune and ask if you can try it to get a hands on experience and ask what there software is like cause it sucks having to fumble around on the zune market place or find out that you dont have enough room on your computer for it. Good Luck with your decision.

Although I'm unaware of a specific model, just about any MP3 player will play just fine when you're running. A CD player will skip, but since an MP3 player doesn't read a spinning component, anything should work fine.
